Is there a standard “Zero Power Outage” decentralized self-healing system solution?
A:
There is no such a standard solution, as different regions vary in power supply environment and demand customized solutions. A self-healing system suitable for local environments should be designed according to the power grid features. The solutions we have made by now include an open-loop and radiating smart distributed automatic system, a petal-shaped and closed-loop smart distributed automation system and a 2-supply and 1-backup structured and smart distributed automation solution.
-
What is the feature of “Zero Power Outage” system?
A:
Conventional power distribution networks are divided to two types, tree-shaped and radial. The former is not suitable for concentrated loads, as the power failure will dominate the main circuits as long as the substation goes blackout. But the radial network connects more switchgears and comes with higher costs. The self-healing system can locate the fault and protect the circuit through communication cables. It can be used to quickly limit the power outage area and is suitable for concentrated loads.
-
How do adjacent RMUs in the “Zero Power Outage” system communicate with each other?
A:
By optical cables.
-
How does the self-healing system restore the power supply of fault area, automatically or manually?
A:
Faults need to be solved by personnels on site. After the completion of troubleshooting, the technicians will restore the power supply solution manually.
-
How difficult it is to apply the decentralized self-healing system?
A:
It depends on technicians, as laying optical cables requires them to have a good knowledge of related theoretical principles. The application will be smooth with the help of those technicians who understand how the system works.
-
Is the “Zero Power Outage” system reliable and trustworthy?
A:
Yes. It is adopted by a number of Chinese national major power projects or applied in many areas which demand high reliability of power supply in China. The system thus won high recognition from the customers.
-
What is busbar differential protection?
A:
It means when a switchgear has a fault, the distribution terminal will trace all the switches and realize local fault isolation in 100ms.
-
How is automatic restoration of power supply in non-fault areas achieved?
A:
After the non-fault area in the closed-loop system has no power supply, the automatic spare power switching mechanism will be activated to order the distribution terminal to turn off communication switches. In this way, the power supply in the non-fault area can be restored in milliseconds.
